When we talk of gaming peripherals such as mice, keyboards, and the lot, there are so many brands in the market that it becomes so confusing as to what to get. Some have established themselves over the years and are already household names, but there are some hidden gems that not many people know but deserve to have the spotlight.

MOTOSPEED is one of those brands. Personally, I have only seen or heard about this brand as I’ve randomly come across some of their products on ecommerce websites, and from a keyboard enthusiast from another publication.

It was only recently that I found out that they have a local distributor, and that they are offering some very interesting products at very competitive prices.

Value and Quality at its Roots

Though its roots go back to as early as 2002, MOTOSPEED was officially founded in Shenzhen, China, back in 2008, under the Mototech Technology Group Co. Ltd, a professional manufacturer of gaming peripherals. The brand relied on unique designs with a focus on quality and service, as its way of gaining traction in the market.

While racing would be the first thing that comes to mind with the word MOTOSPEED, it is derived from the word MOTO, which basically advocates the ability to adapt to the latest design trends, and SPEED, for its fast updates and responsiveness to the needs of its customers. The brand’s slogan is “Leopard’s Instantaneous Energy.”

The company has more than 300 employees, with a portion dedicated to R&D, and has also secured RoHs, FCC, CE, and ISO9001:2008 certifications.

While not as popular here in the Philippines, the brand has already accomplished a lot outside the country– such as a global marketing center, and even an esports ecosystem.

Product Offerings

MOTOSPEED’s major business areas are in China, Europe, South America, and SEA. Its product lineup consists of Gaming Mice, Keyboards, Headphones, and Mousepads. The brand caters to every part of the segment from entry-level to high-end, allowing every gamer to have access to its portfolio of products regardless of their budget.

The general price range for each segment is as follows (does not include retailer markup)

  • For keyboards, price range is from PhP1,400 to PhP4,000
  • For mouse price, range is from PhP1,000 to PhP2,000
  • For headphones, price range is from PhP1,000 to PhP3,000

The keycaps are also textured and with transparent markings to allow the RGB lighting to shine. The plate is also made of metal, and the matte look adds to a premium style.

Using the dedicated Function key, you’ll be able to control media playback, control the volume, and even open select apps. It also supports 14 LED backlight effects to add to your setup’s aesthetics.

H19 Gaming Headset

With its unique design, the H19 Gaming Headset is equipped with 50mm drivers, an omni-directional microphone, and LED lighting on the side. The faux leather covered earpads offer good comfort while also providing a decent passive seal to reduce outside noise.

The side grills are highlighted with branding – a Leopard’s face that symbolizes the brand’s commitment to delivering quality products. Underneath the headband are two separate sections that offer cushion for your head and can be adjusted for maximum comfort.

The H19 uses a thick 2.2m USB cable with an in-line volume control, a dedicated switch for the microphone, as well for activating or deactivating the lighting on the side.

While the design is basic, this headset delivers sound that’s past its PhP1,700 price point with impactful bass, clear vocals, and clear highs. What a surprise.

V100 Gaming Mouse

motospeed (32)

The MOTOSPEED V100 Gaming Mouse is part of the brand’s high-end lineup, and for its PhP1,650 price tag, the device offers a lot of features that make it a good value.

motospeed (35)

It is a right-handed mouse that boasts an anti-skid leather texture design for maximum grip and supports up to 6,400 dpi and up to 1,000Hz polling rate. Both of which can be adjusted using dedicated switches underneath the device. There are even indicators to show you the actual dpi and polling rate you are using, which is a proof of the brand’s attention to detail.

There are three side buttons for additional navigation. Pressing and holding the middle button slows down the dpi for more precise and controlled aiming exactly when you need it. It also supports RGB lighting and uses a 1.8 meter 4-core shielded woven magnetic cable to withstand the beating of being pulled from all directions at a fast pace. Lastly, V100 uses super wear-resistant Teflon foot stickers to keep it in place.

These are just three of MOTOSPEED’s products, with a lot more in their portfolio. While waiting for our full review, you can check out their catalogue on Lazada and Shopee. For more information, you may also check out MOTOSPEED’s Official Facebook Page and website.
