According to a report from The Verge, the Facebook company is looking to rebrand itself. A source obtained documents that mention that the company will build a metaverse with the name to be discussed during its annual Connect conference scheduled on October 28.
The rebrand is believed to position Facebook itself as a separate social network product, similar to how WhatsApp, Instagram, and Oculus are their own products. Another possible name is said to be Horizon. This is after the VR gaming platform was rebranded to Horizon Worlds.
Regardless of the name, it is believed to act as an umbrella of all the brands and products it owns, similar to how Alphabet Inc is the parent company to Google, Calico, among others.
