Apple is reported to be testing a 120Hz ProMotion display for the next iPad mini according to an insider from a Korean forum. The display itself is said to be an 8.3-inch Samsung panel.
The sixth-gen iPad mini is said to have an effect which is described as a jelly scroll effect. This is when one side of the display refreshes slower than the other side. Apple has claimed this to be normal behavior but users disagreed. Regardless of the case, a ProMotion display will definitely help out smoothen things out.
The hardware is said to be unchanged. This includes the A15 Bionic chip coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage on the base variant.
The news comes from an unverified source though. Additionally, Apple just released the sixth-generation iPad mini in September 2021 so it’s a way too earlier before we see anything official with regards to a new iPad mini.
