It’s not so easy to find the right Type-C charger that can allow you to juice up your smart devices. Allow us to help you pick the right one, which happens to be available at 30% discount this November 11 via Lazada – the UGREEN GaN 4 ports 100W charger.
UGREEN has been one of our go-to brands when it comes to chargers and cables. When I got a monitor last year, I also bought a longer UGREEN DisplayPort cable. Just last week, UGREEN reached out to us so we can test and see if the 100W GAN Fast Charger can serve our charging needs. They sent the charger plus their 100W PD Fast Charging Cable right away, boy was I so satisfied with their performance.
One Charger Fits All
Don’t be fooled with its unassuming and small build. This 100W charger by UGREEN is one of the most capable ones I’ve used so far. Apart from being able to charge multiple devices at once, it surprisingly has a full range of compatibility to smart charging technologies like QuickCharge and Huawei SuperCharge.
Our devices, nowadays, are smart enough to take in the right amount of juice they need at a specific voltage. All thanks to new charging standards that our charger and devices are very well programmed to be. This new charging standard makes it safer for us to charge our devices, and not worry how many watts our charger can deliver and our devices can draw. The MacBook Pro M1 with a 58.2-watt-hour Li-Po battery, for instance, can be charged by a 61W to 140W USB-C Power Adapter. This means that you can simultaneously charge the MacBook Pro M1 (58.2 watts) and an iPhone 13 Pro Max (27 watts) or Galaxy Z Fold 2 (25 watts) with a single charger, using the UGREEN 100W GaN Charger without worrying about fast charging efficiency.
Having this kind of charger basically eliminates the need to bring or keep multiple chargers. The charger has 3 Type-C and 1 Type A Plugs. In my case, I managed to try and charge the following devices one at a time: Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy Z Fold2, Apple MacBook Pro M1 and Nintendo Switch OLED. As expected, the devices draw out the needed and compatible fast charging load and got fully charged within the duration I expected. This would not have happened if the UGREEN 100W GaN fast charger did not do its job.
Another thing that you have to keep in mind when choosing a third-party fast charger is how it dissipates heat. This is where this charger’s GaN feature comes in. GaN, or also known as a third-generation gallium nitride semiconductor, helps the charger generate less heat making it more efficient in charging your devices. In my experience, the charger itself really doesn’t heat up too much and the fact that my devices charged properly and quickly, this is an easy recommendation from us.
Best paired with the right cable
If you’re copping the charger, you might as well get a fast charging cable like the UGREEN PD Fast Charging Cable. While this is market as a 100W fast charging cable, it can also allow data sync up to 480Mbps. It also also nylon braided so you know it’s going to be both tangle-free and durable.
Similar to the 100W fast charger by UGREEn, this also has a wide range of compatibilities like the new Apple MacBook Pro M1, Huawei MateBook and Lenovo Yoga laptops, and other smartphones with Type C charging input. You have to keep in mind though that this is not the ideal cable for Oculus Quest 2 and video output. This may only be used for charging and data transfer.
