Google launched, last Q4 2021, its first smartphones to have its self-developed Tensor chipsets – Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Now, it is said to be poised to launch a new addition to the series with the expected moniker Google Pixel 6a as reported by tipster Max Jambor.
The tipster reported that the new addition is expected to come this May. It may be announced during the Google I/O event just like its predecessor the Pixel 5a.
Moreover, the image of the CAD renders by OnLeaks of the front and back panel above shows the phone’s OLED display that has a punch hole design and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The rear is shown to have a horizontal camera setup for its dual cameras.
Reports about the specs of the Google Pixel 6a include a 12MP rear main camera, 12MP ultrawide, and an 8MP selfie camera. It is also expected to be powered by the same chipset that powers the first two variants which is Google’s Tensor GS101 SoC.
