Logitech is creating a more equitable experience for hybrid workers with the RightSight 2 software. The software can now simultaneously present both a close-up view of the individual speaker and a view of the entire room during video calls.
The software’s auto-framing technology can help the far-end participant follow the active speaker while getting the group’s situational context such as one person’s gesture to another or while writing something on a whiteboard.
As the working environment continues to evolve and long-term hybrid adaptations are happening, Logitech continues to advance its software intelligence that delivers immersive and inclusive experiences to remote participants as though they were physically present for a meeting.
“Remote workers often feel excluded during video calls with in-office colleagues. They may miss important in-room interactions or struggle to keep up with the meeting flow. RightSight 2 becomes the equalizer for remote participants, allowing them to collaborate with their conference room counterparts on an equal footing regardless of their location.”
Bryan Lee, Head of Video Collaboration, Logitech Southeast Asia
RightSight 2 combines video and audio intelligence to know people’s placement in the room and where their voice is coming from. A mode that uses a two-camera system named Speaker View is featured in the Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini to render a picture-in-picture view of all the people involved in the meeting.
It frames the active speaker by using the main camera that pans and zooms smoothly as the speaker changes. In addition, a wide-angle AI viewfinder frames the room and ensures remote participants can see and hear everything in the meeting clearly.
IT admins will have the ability to toggle between Speaker View and Group View (RightSight’s original application of the auto-framing feature) to best suit what their team needs.
Furthermore, RightSight 2’s Speaker View will be compatible with all of Logitech’s major cloud video conferencing partners that give IT teams the assurance that their Logitech video collaboration ecosystem can and will adapt to the evolving needs of the hybrid workplace.
The feature will work as picture-in-picture mode with Microsoft Teams Room on Android and Windows and will seamlessly integrate into Zoom Rooms’ multi-stream technology. This technology is able to show the speaker and room streams in separate/individual tiles.
RightSight 2’s Speaker View is globally available now for free on a public beta which is on CollabOS 1.5 for the Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini. You can update your video bars in Sync device management software or via partner platforms like Zoom Device Management and Teams Admin Center.
