nubia Z40 Pro Launches in China with Magnetic Wireless Charging Gravity Edition

nubia launched the nubia Z40 Pro in China. The device brings the new 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor with a 35mm equivalent lens. Additionally, the limited Gravity Edition of the device becomes the first Android phone with magnetic wireless charging.

The Z40 Pro is built around a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. In a punch hole in the center of the display is a 16MP.

Meanwhile, around the back, it has the aforementioned 64MP Sony IMX787 main camera with OIS. It can capture 16MP photos with 4-to-1 pixel binning. Accompanying the main sensor is a 50MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.

The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 coupled with 8/12/16GB RAM and 128/256/512GB/1TB storage.

The nubia Z40 Pro is equipped with a 5000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging. There’s also the Gravity Edition which comes with a 4600mAh battery with support for 66W wired fast charging and debuts magnetic wireless charging in Android devices.

Out of the box, it runs on MyOS 12 on top of Android 12.

The nubia Z40 Pro comes in Black or Silver color options and starts at CNY 3,399 for the base 8/128GB configuration. Meanwhile, the lowest priced Gravity Edition is at CNY 4,299, which comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

As of writing, it is uncertain if the device will be introduced in the international market.
