According to a report from GSMArena, Qualcomm is tipped to introduce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ in May.
The new chipset is rumored to be built on the TSMC 4nm node instead of Samsung’s process. This has led to speculations that the Plus variant is less prone to overheating and throttling than its predecessor.
The new plus variant is tipped to have a model number SM8475. When comparing to the SM8450 model number of the non-plus variant, it could hint that there’s quite a boost in performance.
If the report is true, the new can expect to see Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ powered devices by the end of May and will be available in June. Among the brands linked to introducing a device powered by the new chipset include OnePlus, Xiaomi, as well as Lenovo and Motorola.
