Motorola is rumored to be developing a rollable smartphone with the codename “Felix”. This was tipped by Evan Blass on 91mobiles.

According to Blass’s report, the development is now in the early phase with the software possibly developed on an Edge 30 Pro because prototypes of the rollable phone are not yet advanced enough,

Moreover, the device codenamed “Felix” may be significantly different from earlier prototypes which could’ve been released last year were it not for Motorola’s exit from the smartphone industry earlier.

The device is said to have a display that curves towards the back at the lower end of the phone. This means that the screen is about a third longer when rolled out instead of being wider.

In addition, when rolled out, the extended display can be seen on the back making it useful for taking selfies with the main camera without the need to install a second display on the rear.

Lastly, Evan Blass reported that the Motorola Rollable Smartphone may arrive as early as 2023.
