If you fancy playing a mobile game with PC cross play/cross save feature, then you might be interested to try this new game that launched globally last week – Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds.
Based on a popular video game title, Ni no Kuni, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is an expansion of the series; developed by Netmarble and published by Level-5. The anime-art of the game is rendered in Unreal Engine 4, and features original music tracks by Studio Ghibli film composer Joe Hisaishi.
What is Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, in a nutshell?
In Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, you play as a “player” for a virtual reality game called “Soul Divers”. The goal of the game is simple: become a soul diver in a “virtual world” that you will later discover as a real and a co-existing reality, rebuild your kingdom with the guidance of Rania, and save the two connected worlds.
As a free-to-play game, it features quite a number of things to do in a single day. The game refreshes every 2PM (PHT), where you will get to receive new daily (and weekly) tasks, plus free rewards to encourage players to continue playing the game. Once you are in game, Ni no Kuni offers a vast storyline (MSQs) and sidequests (reputation missions), plus a plethora of avenues to progress your character’s level and combat power. There are also gacha-elements in the game in the form of Familiars, Equipment and Costumes. It also has Guild, PVP and PVE mechanics, which makes it an enjoyable game regardless of your preference. The game is huge, and I would not even dare explain everything in this article. I highly encourage you to try it, and enjoy everything it offers.
Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, also a P2E game!
Now, underneath the vast gameplay experience that Ni no Kuni can give you is its gameplay-based blockchain system, which is an optional piece of the game. This gives all players an opportunity to not just enjoy the game, but also earn in the process.
In Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, you can earn two currencies that you can then exchange in the MBX platform: Territes and Asterites.
Terries can be exchanged for Territe Tokens (NKT), while Asterites can be exchange for Asterite Tokens (NKA) via Marblex Wallet. To facilitate players in getting these currencies, 300 Territe energy (the only type of energy available as of this writing) is given every day. You can hold a maximum of 2,100 Territe energy as you play through the game. Note that energies are not the actual currencies; this is a buff given to all players to increase Territe Drop.
Through this P2E gameplay mechanics, you can bring your tokens to the Crytocurrency exchange via Marblex Wallet. Each conversion requires Black Diamonds, which can be purchased via in-game Shop. This is your “fee” for taking out your money from the platform.
At the time of writing this article, the said cryptocurrency feature is not yet available. However, you can already earn Territes while playing the game. If you want to connect your game to your Marblex Wallet, you can only do it via the PC version of the game. According to Netmarble, Marblex Wallet can be used starting May 31, 2022 at 2:00PM (PHT).
Conversion Route: – [Menu] → [Shop] → [Token Conversion] → MARBLEX Wallet
Update as of May 31, 2022:
Conversion rate is 300:1. Minimum Territes to exchange in the platform is 300 in order to receive 1 NKT. 1 NKT in the Marblex Platform is equal to 2.32 MRBLX, which is equal to $15.07 as of this writing. Take note though than when making conversions, you will be required to use Black Diamonds. This is what will basically cover the transaction fees.
Where to find Territes (as of May 29, 2022):
According to Netmable, Territes are dropped via Dailies, Familiar Adventure and Chaos Field. You can check the guide that Netmarble prepared via their website.
If players do not want your earned Territes be exchanged to crytocurrency tokens, it can be used for crafting and enchancing equipment. It can also be used to enhance Familiars and powering up your character. This is an option for players who do not want to participate in its P2E mechanics.
Where to find Asterites (as of May 29, 2022):
Asteries are received via its 3v3 PVP battle ground called Lava Valley. It will be awarded to the top 10% during the week or season. Soon, it is also dropped via Familar Arena, which is an upcoming content of the game.
As an in-game utility, Asterites can be used to buy items from the Asterite Shop.
An important reminder!
While everything seems exciting and free, there is a chance for players to get sucked into the cryptocurrency “quicksand”. Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds players can earn Territes and Asteries as they play the game, but it is undeniable that they will see this as a “viable” way to earn. Always do your own research, and do not just rely from people who are recommending to heavily invest in tokens. People-recommendations and articles, like the one you are reading now, are just references or tools in your research.
When you decide to invest time, effort and money on this game, make sure to only invest what you are only willing to lose.

Setting up a P2E platform in a triple A game
As a triple A game, Ni no Kuni is setting up as a solid play-to-earn platform. While there is relatively negative sentiment to the game’s crypto roadmap (with NFTs coming in by Q4 2022), the game is shaping up to be a catalyst in the industry.
Gaming and crypto do not usually bond well in terms of overall sentiments. Despite this, more video game developers and publishers are setting up new games with crypto and NFT elements. What Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is doing right, in my opinion, is how they are making the game enjoyable to play with or without blockchain in grand scheme of things. I have personally dabbled in to blockchain-based games like Crytoblades, Axie Infinity, and the upcoming Anito Legends. So far, Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds is the only available (crossplay and cross save) free game that gives the following: amazing graphics, memorable soundtrack, and immersive storyline. As a game, even without crytocurrency in the mix, it is a game worth playing anywhere I go.
