The Xiaomi 12 series was introduced in the global market last March and it came to the Philippine shores shortly after. As one of the much-anticipated series to launch this year, it was bound to face the YouTuber JerryRigEverything’s durability test. Now, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has made it to the durability test and survived.
The durability test was made to test the strength and structural integrity of devices. It is comprised of a scratch test, a flame test, and a bend test.
Despite being protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, the Xiaomi 12 Pro showed scratches at level 6 of the Mohs hardness scale and deeper grooves at level 7. This is pretty normal with glass protection.
The in-display fingerprint scanner impressed though after still being functional despite the display being scratched up with level 7 grooves.
The highlight of the video was the dreaded bend test which the OnePlus 10 Pro already failed earlier this year. Thankfully, the Xiaomi 12 Pro held up against the hardest pressure on both the front and back of the device.
However, Zach Nelson of JerryRigEverything did point out clicking noises each time he tried to bend the phone.
