Apple has just introduced the redesigned MacBook Air and the refreshed 13-inch MacBook Pro at WWDC 2022. The two new laptops are the first to be powered by the new M2 chip.
MacBook Air
The new MacBook Air has been redesigned and measures just 11.3 mm thin and weighs 2.7 lbs.
It has a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with up to 500 nits of brightness and support for 1 billion colors. Additionally, it has a 1080p FaceTime HD Camera on the front that offers twice the resolution of its predecessors.
The new Air also has a four-speaker system with support for Spatial Audio and a three-mic array. The keyboard features a full-height function row with Touch ID along with a Force Touch trackpad on the bottom.
Meanwhile, as far as ports go, it has two Thunderbolt ports and a 3.5mm audio jack, and a MagSafe port for charging. Speaking of charging, it supports fast charging of up to 67W USB-C power adapter. The company has also introduced a new 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter so you can charge two devices at once.
The M2 is said to offer 40% faster performance in Final Cut Pro and 20% faster on Adobe Photoshop compared to its predecessor. Meanwhile, its battery is said to last up to 18 hours of video playback.
13-inch MacBook Pro
The new 13-inch MacBook Pro, on the other hand, offers 39% faster CPU and GPU performance than its M1-powered predecessor.
The M2 chip also allows the new Pro to have up to 24GB of unified memory. The new chipset also allows the refreshed laptop to playback up to 11 streams of 4K and up to two streams of 8K ProRes video.

The MacBook Pro is available in the Philippines starting next month, while the local availability of the new MacBook Air is yet to be announced.
