According to a report from Sina Tech, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun is set to unveil the first prototype of its electronic vehicle in August.
The car is designed by HVST Automobile Design, they previously worked on the WM Motor Maven concept car.
After the prototype is showcased, it will go through further road testing. It is expected to leave the production line in around 2024 with the Xiaomi Auto manufacturing plant and research and development center being built in Yizhuang.
The company revealed its plans to expand to the electric vehicle market in early 2021, with an initial investment of RMB 10 billion and a total investment of around USD 10 billion in the next 10 years.
