Sony has just unveiled details regarding the upcoming Sony PlayStation VR2 headset (PSVR2).

These details include basic information on how to set up your play area and some guides for streaming and playing non-VR games.

Playstation VR see through option

The new PSVR2 features a See-Through View which enables you to see your surroundings without the need to take off your headset. You can access this by simply pressing the function button located on your headset or by using a card in the Control Center.

This view option is to help you orient yourself in your playroom and see if you need to pick up or move some things around you like controllers or furniture. There will be no recording option though.

In addition, the headset will map your room and you will be able to draw a border using your controller so that the system can warn you if you are close to the border that you set.

If you also own a PS5 HD camera and set up a green screen, you can overlay a live view of yourself playing a game.

As for the details pertaining to how you can play non-VR games, for VR Mode, the content will render at 4,000 x 2040px or 2,000 x 2040px per eye in an HDR video format at 90/120Hz.

For non-VR content like regular games or movies, these will be rendered on a large virtual screen with a 1,920 x 1,080pc resolution at a 24/60/120Hz refresh rate.

Lastly, Sony has not yet confirmed when the PSVR2 will launch but the company said in a statement that they will share more information soon.
