Xiaomi has just released the Xiaomi 12S Ultra alongside two more phones last Monday. After the reveal of the 12S Ultra variant, some fans were curious as to how the 1-inch IMX989 sensor fits inside the phone’s relatively thin profile
Well, WkiHome made a video showing the disassembly of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra model that shows how the big camera module was placed inside the phone.
The image above shows the comparison of the 1-inch IMX989 and the 1/1.28-inch GNV sensor. Moreover, the camera module that features a 5x periscope and the 48MP ultrawide seem to be really packed tight.
If you’re wondering how they managed to fit in other parts like the Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 SoC and, most importantly, the motherboard?
The solution Xiaomi did was to stack two PCBs to provide enough space for these critical components as well as the battery, RAM, and storage that are located at the bottom.
