The growing China-Taiwan tension is believed to have affected the iPhone 14 production and distribution.
The increased friction started when US House of Representative Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan. China responded by adding new regulations that forbade the use of “Taiwan” or “the Republic of China in shipping documents.
This means that most of the iPhone 14 units, or maybe all of the units, are on their way back to Taiwan halting production.
Adding to the fire, Pegatron’s Vice Chairman and other top executives from TSMC were seen with Pelosi during the said visit which may spark another trade war between China and Taiwan.
According to reports, Apple, in response, has already requested Taiwanese partners to remove or replace labels that have the “Made in Taiwan or “Republic of China” tag.
Ming-Chi Kuo on Twitter, on the other hand, reported that the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 will be provided by Foxconn’s Indian factory showing Apple’s plan to diversify and increase production.
