After a two year hiatus, Huawei officially returned the Mate series with the Huawei Mate 50 series comprised of the Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, Mate 50 RS Porsche Design, and Mate 50E.

The Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design are equipped with the first 4G Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. They also have triple XMAGE cameras around the back. The trio also features the Beidou Satellite Message 3 protocol that allows you to send a message and location even without cellular coverage.

Meanwhile, the Mate 50E has a Snapdragon 778G 4G chipset and a dual camera configuration around the back. Despite lacking a third shooter, it still shares the new XMAGE camera system.

The Huawei Mate 50 series runs on HarmonyOS 3.0.

Before we get to the specs of the four devices, do note that the RAM for all four was not specified as of writing this.

Huawei Mate 50 series pricing and availabilty

The Huawei Mate 50 is available for:

  • 128GB – CNY 4,999 (PHP 41,100*)
  • 256GB – CNY 5,499 (PHP 45,200*)
  • 512GB – CNY 6,499 (PHP 53,400*)

Meanwhile, here the price options for the Mate 50 Pro:

  • 256GB – CNY 6,799 (PHP 55,900*)
  • 512GB – CNY 7,799 (PHP 64,100*)

The Mate 50 RS Porsche Design goes for a whopping CNY 12,999 (PHP 106,800*).

The pricing and availability of the Mate 50E is yet to revealed.

In addition, the international release information of the Huawei Mate 50 series is unknown as of writing this. Regardless, we can expect them to launch without Google Mobile Services and no 5G connectivity.
