HMD Global has announced two new devices – Nokia X 30 5G and G60 5G which are made of recycled materials that are in line with the company’s push for sustainable practices.
This unveiling also comes with the introduction of the Circular subscription in the UK and Germany initially. The service extends the phone’s life and reduces e-waste when you upgrade. It does so by refurbishing, replacing, re-selling, or recycling your Nokia device depending on what you want.
Nokia X30 5G
Let us look at the Nokia X30 5G first. This phone’s frame is made up of 100% recycled aluminum and the back side is made from 65% recycled plastics alongside its packaging which is made from 94% recycled paper.
In addition, the Nokia X30 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 695 SoC coupled with a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Also, this comes with two configurations – 6 + 128GB and 8 + 256GB.
The Nokia X30 5G will also come with what HMD dubbed the “3-3-3” promise meaning 3 OS updates, 3 years of security patches, and 3 years of extended warranty.

Next up is the Nokia G60 5G smartphone. This also has a Snapdragon 695 at the helm but has a bigger 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This phone comes in three configurations – 4 + 64GB, 4 + 128GB, and 6 + 128GB.
Like its brethren, it also comes with the “3-3-3” promise that HMD offers. For the cameras, it has a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP depth sensor.
