As we are living in a new normal, many of us have gradually shifted back to our usual on-the-go lifestyle. Parties are now everywhere, meetings in the office are back, students are once again filling up the classrooms, coffee shops are now alive again, and malls are bustling with customers.
As such, moving from place-to-place, shifting from doing work to the weekend, getting together with friends and family in or out of the city, the need for a device that not only outlasts your day, but also allows you to get back in action as quickly as possible with minimal downtime, is now more significant than ever.
Thankfully, vivo has such a device. Welcome, the vivo Y35. The brand’s newest addition to its mid-range roster in the Philippines.
Lasts long, charges fast
What use is a powerful smartphone if it can’t even last as long as your busy day? With the vivo Y35’s 5,000mAh battery, you’ll be able to continuously enjoy your favorite videos for up to 14.3 hours, capture those precious moments, play your favorite games for up to 7.05 hours, and stay in touch with those important to you without having to worry about your phone running out of juice in the middle of the day, or worse, just when the fun’s about to start.
What’s more, it also supports 44W fast charge, which tops up the battery to 70% in 30 minutes. With 15 minutes of charging, it’ll even have enough energy for around 7 hours of video streaming.
More than enough room for multi-tasking and your files
Good quality photos and videos are great and all, but having enough room to store those plus other content like music files and documents is equally important.
That’s why the vivo Y35 is equipped with 256GB of internal storage, more than what you usually get on many other phones at this price range, and if even that’s not enough, you have the option of using up to a 1TB microSD card to add even more storage. Now, you don’t have to go through the hassle of transferring files to your laptop or PC or external storage drive every so often.
In addition you also get 8GB of RAM for some multi-tasking, and it even has vivo’s Extended RAM 3.0 feature, which lets the phone use part of its storage as virtual RAM to further improve performance. In this case, up to 8GB, a first for a Y series device.
Made to perform
The vivo Y35 isn’t a slouch by any means and is designed to handle your day-to-day tasks, and a lot more. With a 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 5G processor that offers up to a 25% increase in CPU speed and up to a 10% improvement in GPU performance compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 662 at the helm, the phone should run your favorite day to day apps smoothly, and even handle most of today’s popular games with no major issues.
Then there’s Multi-Turbo 5.5, which optimizes various aspects of the phone from CPU, GPU, RAM, and more, to reduce lag and improve overall smoothness and stability.
Ultra Game Mode offers various settings that can help improve the gaming experience. There is a Game Sidebar that you can launch in-game by swiping from the left. This allows for switching between performance profiles, taking screenshots, disabling notifications, and doing screen recordings, so you can easily share (or brag about) those clutch moments.
Swiping down with two fingers also brings up a list of apps that you can launch on a floating window, so you can do other things like browsing social media while still keeping an eye on your game.
You can also enable Esports Mode, which mutes all notifications, optimizes controls, and intelligently balances frame rate and thermals to deliver an optimal gaming experience for supported games.
If you’re using the phone in a noisy environment, such as in malls or events, you can enable Audio Booster to bypass the 100% volume limit and crank it all the way up to 200% to get a louder sound while still retaining full bass and clear treble.
The vivo Y35 is equipped with a 6.56-inch Full HD+ display with 550 nits of peak brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate, allowing for smooth and fluid animations not just in supported games but also for everyday scenarios like simply swiping through home screens and menus.
Capable Optics
For a phone to be well-rounded, it has to do great in several aspects, and the camera is one area where there should be no compromise.
Fortunately, the vivo Y35 has got you covered there as well. It has a 50MP main rear camera, accompanied by a pair of 2MP sensors for depth sensing and macro photography. This means that you can unleash your creativity and experiment with the various lenses plus several pre-loaded filters to get those insta-worthy uploads.
You can also take advantage of the Y35’s Super Night Camera which uses multi-frame denoising for those beautiful low-light shots, as well as its Super Night Selfie for well-lit shots even in less than ideal lighting.
Trendy Design
The vivo Y35 comes in two stylish colorways – Dawn Gold, which is inspired by the morning mood, celebrating a laidback and refined lifestyle, and Agate Black which draws inspiration from the change of light and shadow in the midnight sky, offering a sense of calmness and elegance with tension.
Deviating from the curved back that you get on other devices, the device’s symmetrical rounded corners and 2.5D body design emits elegance while allowing for a comfortable grip.
Both the volume rocker and the side-mounted fingerprint scanner are located on the right easily reachable even with one-handed use.
It’s got a USB-C port at the bottom, along with a speaker grille, microphone, and for those who still prefer to listen to music the wired way, a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The vivo Y35 offers a good performing and efficient processing package, a versatile set of cameras, a premium looking design, a large capacity battery, and 44W fast charge. Thanks to its capable hardware and nifty features, it presents a very compelling package uncommon in its price range, and should be on the radar of anyone looking for a good all-around device.
