Google has finally taken off the wraps on its first smartwatch – the Google Pixel Watch after a plethora of leaks. This was introduced alongside the Tensor G2-powered Pixel 7 series.

The Google Pixel Watch features a 1.2-inch panel with a 1000nits peak brightness and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It has a dome-shaped design with a scroll wheel/button on the right-hand side. Its chassis itself is made of stainless steel.

Among the main features of the watch is an ECG sensor for more detailed heart readings. If you’re into fitness, you’ll be pleased to know that Google worked with the Fitbit team for more accurate health-tracking algorithms. This includes being able to tell you if resting and recovering would be better.

Of course, it also features more typical monitoring like SpO2, heart rate, and more. It is also rated at 5ATM water resistance, so you can take it for swimming.

Under the hood, the smartwatch is powered by an Exynos 9110 chipset coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. Its 294mAh battery is said to offer up to 24 hours of use.

The Pixel Watch comes with a variety of bands including a silicon active band, a woven band, and the more classic metal and leather bands that slide into the body.

The Google Pixel Watch comes in four color combinations:

  • Champagne Gold Case + Hazel Active band
  • Matte Black Case + Obsidian Active band
  • Polished Silver Case + Charcoal Active band
  • Polished Silver Case + Chalk Active Band

The 4G LTE + Bluetooth/Wi-Fi variant is priced at USD 399.99 (around PHP 23,500), while the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi option goes for USD 349.99 (around PHP 20,600).

In addition to the Pixel Watch, Google also teased the Pixel Tablet which will be powered by the Google Tensor G2 chipset and have a charging speaker dock.

The Pixel Tablet will arrive in 2023 so we expect to hear more about the new tablet at a later date.
