After celebrating its 17th birthday this year, YouTube announced a small makeover to its platform. This includes a visual refresh as well as new features.
YouTube Visual Update
Among the visual upgrades include a more modern and immersive design when you watch videos on the YouTube app. Additionally, it now uses dynamic color sampling to offer ambient mode on web and mobile in dark mode.
Dark mode has also been updated to be dark to allow the colors to pop whether you’re on web, mobile, and Smart TVs.
The last mentioned visual update includes YouTube links in the description box of the videos which will now change to buttons. The other buttons like the Share, Download, and specifically the Subscribe button also get a touch-up.
YouTube New Features
New features also come like being able to Pinch to Zoom to take a deeper look at videos like when looking at art tutorials.
Another feature is Precise Seeking for the mobile app. This lets you press and hold your screen to see a visual timeline. As the name suggests, it offers a more precise way to browse and go back or move to the specific chapter you want to get to.
These changes will be rolled out in the next few weeks. Read more about it here.
