MediaTek has just introduced the MediaTek T800 5G modem, a new solution for sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G networks beyond smartphones. It was introduced alongside the MediaTek Pentonic 1000 and Kompanio 520 and 528.

The new modem is the successor to the MediaTek T700 5G modem and continues to offer 5G for Industrial IoT, M2M, and always-connected PCs.

The T800 stands out with super fast, reliable 5G speeds in a highly efficient design that maximizes battery life for an all-around great user experience.”

The MediaTek T800 is built on a 4nm process node and integrates PCIe + USB host interfaces and other input/output options.

It also supports download speeds of up to 7.96Gbps and packs the company’s latest 5G UltraSave power-efficiency technologies to optimize battery life for all connection conditions.

The highly integrated design helps lower development costs. Additionally, it features a thin modem and a fully integrated 3GPP Release-16 5G cellular modem, FR1 Transreceivers, an Envelope Tracking (ET) chip, an MLNA, a GNSS receiver, and associated PMICs.

It supports dual 5G SIM depending on the device maker’s requirements.
