Elon Musk, Twitter’s new CEO, plans to lessen the social media site’s reliance on ads for its revenue using Twitter Blue.
Now, Twitter Blue, which was previously offered at USD 4.99/month in other countries will have an increased price of USD 8 and will include a blue check next to the subscriber’s handle.

Musk also stated that Twitter will offer the verification mark (which is currently only available for celebrities, politicians, and journalists) to everyone that can pay the monthly subscription and will also receive priority in replies and mentions to lessen spam.
In addition, you can now also post longer videos and audio and receive 50% fewer ads. Publishers that will work with the social media site will get a paywall bypass.
According to Casey Newton, the editing feature, which was only exclusive to Blue subscribers, will also come to all users for free.
The latest update will also allow users to write a secondary tag that is currently available only for politicians.
