According to report from MyDrivers, Xiaomi is looking to remove the ads in MIUI 14 to make its devices more appealing to people who might not have thought of buying one previously.
Reported Big Changes to MIUI 14
The company introduced ads in its custom Android skin many years ago and it appeared in few of its pre-installed apps namely Mi Browser and Mi Video. While this can be disabled, which in itself not many users may know of and has since been simpler, but the ads may have turned away quite a number of possible users.
In addition to removing the ads, the upcoming update to the Xiaomi custom UI is also reported to get rid of bloatware and pre-installed apps. The number has already lessened with MIUI 13 as the Xiaomi 12 was introduced in China with a total of 7 pre-installed apps including the Gallery, Camera, and Phone.
The new UI update is also said to come with utility improvements like updates to the clock and weather apps as well the calendar tool. Moreover, a folder mode is also said to arrive to simplify the interaction between the phone and a desktop screen.
Xiaomi is believed to introduce MIUI 14 alongside the Xiaomi 13 which is expected to arrive by the end of November. So, we’ll definitely learn more about the new devices and features of the latest UI update on a more official state soon.
