Corning has just revealed the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 which promises to deliver better scratch resistance and improved drop resistance.
Corning Victus 2 protection
Using sophisticated lab machines, the brand ran tests on the new Victus 2 which can survive a 1-meter drop (hip height) on concrete. Testing on asphalt and concrete proves the drop resistance and scratch resistance balance of the new iteration of the Victus.
These Improvements were made in response to the current increase in the size of smartphone displays that provide more difficulty in ensuring drop or shatter resistance.
Phones that will feature the new Gorilla Glass Victus 2 panels are expected to arrive in the coming months. However, Corning has not released any list or statement regarding which phones will sport this new protective glass.
