Valve announced that starting December 17 the Steam Deck will be available in four major Asian markets namely Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan via the official distributor, Komodo. This comes after the pre-orders for the four countries started in August.
Steam Deck in Asia
Those that pre-ordered previously will start receiving emails tomorrow to finalize the purchase, and the handheld gaming device will be shipped starting December 17.
Valve has high hopes for the official launch in Asia especially since in Japan, the home base of Nintendo and Sony, mobile and handheld gaming is more popular than PC gaming.
If you’re curious about the price point, at least in Japan, the Steam Deck goes for:
- 64GB – JPY 59,800
- 256GB – JPY 79,800
- 512GB – JPY 99,800
If you’re in any of the regions right now, you can purchase the handheld gaming device here.
