Primate Labs has just unveiled Geekbench 6. The new benchmarking app is designed to provide more accurate testing for modern phones and computers.
Geekbench 6 features
The new benchmarking app includes the following new features and changes:
- Bigger photos
- A larger library of images for importing tests
- Bigger and more modern PDF examples
- Several new tests
- Background blur during video calls
- Photo filters in social media
- Object detection for AI workloads
- Better GPU calculations with new frameworks and abstraction layers
- More ML acceleration instructions
- Uniform GPU performance across platforms
The benchmarking app places less focus on single-core CPU tests. According to Primate Labs, the primary core’s number is less significant now since real-world use cases draw power from various parts of the hardware. With the rise of machine learning, the multi-core CPU result has also changed.
Moreover, for quite some time, the world of mobile technology has mixed large and small cores, but now that desktops and laptops are following suit, the older versions of Geekbench are no longer accurate.
Geekbench 6 will be available for Android, Linux, Mac, and Windows and will remain FREE of charge for non-commercial use and it will be available on the Google Play store soon.
