Google’s first foldable smartphone – Google Pixel Fold is finally expected to be released this year, despite long-running rumors to the contrary. It has previously been seen in leaked CAD-based renders, and a recent story discusses its weight.

According to reports, the Google Pixel Fold will weigh more than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4, which will essentially be its major rival.

The second information that was revealed, that the Pixel Fold will have a larger battery than the Samsung, may be tied to that, at least partly.

No exact information was given regarding the battery. It is simply reported that “the battery size will be closer to, but still well below, 5,000 mAh”. That is, closer to 5,000 mAh as opposed to the 4,400 mAh and 4,520 mAh of the Z Fold4 and Oppo Find N2, respectively.

As for the overall weight, the Z Fold4 weighs 263g as a point of comparison. So, the reports advise us to imagine the Pixel Fold as a tiny tablet in terms of weight.

According to the alleged size comparison image above, the size of the unfolded Pixel Fold (in red), Find N2 (in green), and Galaxy Z Fold4 are all shown in comparison to one another (in blue). The Pixel Fold’s unfolded display will be in landscape mode, similar to the Find N2, rather than portrait like the Z Fold4’s.

The Pixel Fold should be officially unveiled at or near the Google I/O developer conference, which is usually held in May, according to other leaked information.
