Opera has just shared its plans to add a ChatGPT-powered tool to its sidebar to help summarize webpages and articles. This comes after companies like Microsoft and Google announced their own AI-focused features.
Opera – ChatGPT Sidebar
The feature is dubbed “Shorten” which brings up a sidebar where the AI chatbot summarizes articles and websites you visit.
You can activate the feature by selecting the “Shorten” button on the upper right of the Opera window. From there, a sidebar powered by ChatGPT will pop out from the left as it generates a bulleted summary.

Per Wetterdal, Opera Head of Strategic Partnership and AI Ecosystem
Currently though, the feature isn’t available to everyone yet. The company aims to roll it out to the public soon.
