Spotify is taking listening on its platform to a new level with the new DJ feature, a personalized AI guide that will deliver a curated lineup of music with commentary around the tracks and artists.
Spotify New DJ Feature
The AI-powered DJ will first be rolled out in beta and curate a lineup of music based on your own music taste. It will sort through the latest music and look back at your old favorites, or maybe even include a song you haven’t listened to for years.
It will constantly refresh the lineup of songs based on your feedback. If you’re not feeling the vibe, you can just tap the DJ button and it will switch it up. Its recommendations improve the more you listen and tell the DJ what you like and don’t like.
The feature uses Generative AI via OpenAI as well as the expertise of Spotify’s music editors to provide you with insightful facts about the music, artists, or genres you’re listening to.
Additionally, it uses a dynamic AI voice platform from the company’s Sonantic acquisition to bring to life realistic voices.
Where to find the DJ
- Head to your Music Feed on Home in your Spotify mobile app.
- Tap play on the DJ card.
- Let it do the rest.
- Not feeling the vibe? Hit the DJ button at the bottom right of the screen to be taken to a different genre, artist, or mood.
