A recent rumor from South Korea mentions that Samsung is working on custom CPU cores. These are said to be initially based on ARM cores and are believed to be featured in a Galaxy chipset in 2025.
Additionally, according to the report, Samsung has also put together a team that will develop its own CPU cores without the ARM design by 2027. These will supposedly show up in Samsung Electronics products like premium smartphones.

It looks like the company is looking to control its own chipsets with vertical integration and all.
This isn’t the first time for the South Korea-based tech giant though as it tried to do the same before with a team in Austin, Texas. They had problems with power efficiency and heat generation which caused the company to end the project in 2019.
However, it seems like the company is keen to make it work a second time despite its current collaboration with Qualcomm for the Galaxy S23 series.
