DJI has just introduced the DJI Mavic 3 Pro, the first drone with a triple camera system.
The main sensor of the DJI Mavic 3 Pro is a 20MP Four Thirds 24mm Hasselblad lens with a variable f/2.8-11 aperture. This camera supports ProRes video 5.1k (5120x2700p) up to 50fps as well as DCI 4K (4096x2160p) and 4K (3840x2160p) up to 120fps in 10-bit D-Log.
It also has 12.8 stops of dynamic range and the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution color technology that is said to deliver accurate colors out of the box.
The main lens is accompanied by a 48MP 1/1.3-inch 70mm 3x midrange telephoto camera with f/2.8 aperture. It captures 4K video up to 60fps in 10-bit D-Log and can also capture photos of binned 12MP.
The last camera is a 12MP 1/2-inch 7x 166mm telephoto lens with f/3.4 aperture and supports 4k video up to 60fps. Additionally, it supports 10-bit video in AppleProRes or 8-bit H.264/H.265.
The three cameras are on a 3-axis mechanical gimbal that can stabilize tilting, rolling, and panning. The drone also has omnidirectional sensors to help it avoid obstacles.
The DJI Mavic 3 Pro is said to offer a flight time of up to 43 minutes which is slightly less flight time than the Mavic 3 (46 minutes). But it does share the newest DJI O3+ transmission.
The new Pro variant also shares the same smart features including:
- Waypoint Flight
- Cruise Control
- Advanced Return to Home
- Quick Shots – Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix
- MasterShots – automatically shoot and edit a video
