Ahead of any official announcement, a live video and details of the Google Pixel Fold were shared by Twitter leaksters Kuba Wojciechowski or Za_Raczke and Yogesh Brar or heyitsyogesh, respectively.
Google Pixel Fold Leaks
The live video shared by Kuba Wojciechowski shows a foldable device that is pretty wide both in the outer panel and its inner display. You can also spot a pretty big bezel on the inner display and front-facing cameras on the inner and outer panels.
Meanwhile, according to Yogesh Brar, the panels on the Google Pixel Fold are said to be a 7.6-inch QXGA AMOLED inner panel and a 5.8-inch HD+ AMOLED display on the outside. Both of which offer a 120Hz refresh rate. The inner front camera is reported to have an 8MP lens, while a slightly better camera is on the outside with a 9.5MP sensor.
Unsurprisingly, it is also said to have a Tensor G2 chipset coupled with 12GB RAM and 256/512GB. It is also believed to have a 4500mAh battery with support for 23W fast charging.
If this report is true, the HD+ outer panel is a bit of a let down especially since most other foldables in the market today offer FHD+ on both inner and outer displays. Its fast charging is pretty surprisingly low, especially since the Galaxy Z Fold4 is among the lowest in the market with support for 25W fast charging for its 4400mAh battery. These could be a limitation of the Tensor G2 chipset but it’s hard to tell now.
The Google Pixel Fold is expected to debut at the Google I/O event which will be held on May 10, 2023, so we expect to learn more about the device in the coming days.
Ram found his love and appreciation for writing in 2015 having started in the gaming and esports sphere for GG Network. He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
