Samsung is said to be gearing up to release the Galaxy S24 Ultra and with it a new battery-stacking tech that is borrowed from the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry.
Galaxy S24 New Stacked Battery Tech
In a report from The Elec, the new battery tech, according to Samsung’s SDI division, will bring the stacked battery setup to smartphones rather than just changing the chemistry content of its existing battery tech.
In addition, this new tech also refers to how cells are strategically positioned and still results in having a higher energy density, thus allowing a larger capacity battery to fit within the same space.
Reports assert that we may anticipate a 10% increase in density. With the upgraded pack, Samsung may be able to squeeze the same capacity into a smaller cell, freeing up room for other parts or allowing for a more compact phone.
Keep in mind though that this does not necessarily mean that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a larger battery than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which only has a 5,000mAh capacity.
For now, we can only wait for more information regarding the Galaxy S24’s battery pack to surface while the device is still under development.
