Riot Games announced that VALORANT Premier Global Open Beta, the team-based competitive system with pre-scheduled matches, launches on April 25.
VALORANT Premier
In VALORANT Premier, you will be able to create or join a team of 5 to 7 friends, acquaintances, neighbors, and battle for glory against teams of a similar skill level.
You and your team will then be placed in a division where you’ll play weekly matches and earn the opportunity to battle it out in a Playoff Tournament to be on the top teams in your skill division.
The goal of the system is to be the path to the VCT Challenger Leagues which will also allow players to be promoted into International Leagues and Champions.
The Premier Beta will have three phases – Enroll, Compete, and Tournament.
To join the VALORANT Premier Global Open Beta, you’ll need:
- SMS verification
- completion of a ranked placement during any Act
- a team of 5-7 players which you can either form on your own or join
From here, the owner then enrolls the team and selects your zone, which determines the servers you play on as well as your match schedules.
In the Compete Phase, you will then be seeded into one of 20 Divisions based on the average MMR of the team’s top five players. Each week, players will play up to two matches with each match earning points towards a Premier score. The score determines if you qualify for the Playoff Tournament.
In the Tournament phase, top teams will be put in a bracket and the team that wins all the games are crowned champion and earn a unique Player Card and Title of their own.
All players that play at least one match will earn an in-game title and player card.
The next phase of Premier will return in July with the full launch planned after VCT Champions 2023 in August.
