vivo has just introduced its latest foldable offerings – the vivo X Fold2 and X Flip. The latter is the company’s first clamshell foldable device.
vivo X Fold2
The vivo X Fold2 is the second-generation traditional foldable device with an 8.03-inch 2160×1916 Samsung E6 AMOLED inner panel and a 6.53-inch FHD+ AMOLED outer display. Both offer 120Hz refresh rate and house 16MP cameras in punch holes.
Meanwhile, around the back, it has a main 50MP Sony IMX866V camera with OIS and ZEISS T* coating on the lens. This is accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide and a 12MP 2x portrait lens with up to a 20x digital zoom.
The vivo X Fold2 is also equipped with a vivo V2 ISP to further support the camera system by improving HDR in photos and video as well as lower noise. Additionally, the foldable supports video recording up to 8K at 30fps.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 4800mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
It introduces a new droplet-style hinge that allows the second-generation device to be lighter and more durable than the vivo X Fold and X Fold+.

vivo X Flip
The vivo X Flip, on the other hand, has a 6.75-inch FHD+ LTPO AMOLED main display with a 120Hz refresh and a 3-inch AMOLED outer panel. The outer panel can be used for texting, map navigation, and browsing social media apps but the company aims to introduce more features and apps supported by this panel.
As far as optics go, the clamshell device has a 32MP front camera and a 50MP Sony IMX866V main accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide lens on the back.
It is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a 4400mAh battery with support for 44W wired charging. Additionally, it has a waterdrop hinge mechanism to lessen the crease as well as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
