Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain chip company, has just been approved for human testing by the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
Neuralink for Human Testing
The brain chip company was founded in 2016 with the goal to help people with disabilities like paralysis and give them a chance to have a somewhat normal life.
Previously, these chips were tested in monkeys to know if it can interpret signal produced in the brain and deliver information via Bluetooth and other means.
However, this caused a setback because of alleged animal welfare violation during its development.
The announcement on Neuralink’s website states that it promises that “safety, accessibility ,and reliability” will be the top priority.
Moreover, the company said that it will soon disclose more information regarding this new development.
