Sony has just unveiled the Xperia 1 V flagship and Xperia 10 V with the former aiming for an “alpha camera image quality”.
Xperia 1 V
With this flagship phone, Sony aims to push the boundaries of what smartphone cameras can produce.
With that said, the Xperia 1 V features 2x 1.35 12MP and 1x 48MP main sensor. By utilizing pixel binning, 4 pixels become 1 pixel which makes the 12-megapixel image much cleaner with a pixel pitch of 2.24 μm.
The camera island contains the following:
- 48MP main (Exmor T lens, 24mm, f/1.9)
- 12MP ultrawide (16mm, f/2.2)
- 12MP telephoto (85-120mm, f/2.3-2.8)
The flagship device also features 2-layer transistor pixel technology which allows a bigger pixel pitch and lessens image noise. It also features the S-Cinetone which significantly impacts color rendition. It also comes with the series’s signature 21:9 4K OLED display.
The Xperia 1 V has a new functional tactile structure on its glass back and is slightly thicker than the 1 IV.
