Advertisers will be allowed to access the 30-second ads through YouTube Select (these are reserved media placements), which focuses on the top five percent of the platform’s content.

The streaming platform reports that TVs account for 70 percent of Select impressions, making it an ideal platform for longer advertisements.

According to the company’s CEO Neal Mohan, more viewers have been using TVs to consume content, especially the younger generation.

In addition, the platform will also roll out its Paused Ads. These ads will show up when you pause a video and will shrink the video to accommodate it but it can be dismissed anytime.

These announcements came after the streaming platform’s operation to take down ad blockers and push viewers to subscribe to the premium service instead.

However, YT has not yet announced when these ads will arrive so for now let us just wait for the official announcement on when this rollout will happen.
