Freelancer.com launched an international contest to redesign PAGCOR’s logo (which was very controversial because of its alleged PHP 3 million price tag) with the winner earning USD 50 or PHP 2,700.
PAGCOR Logo Redesigning Contest
The contest was initiated by the freelancing website’s communication manager Marko Zitko to try to promote and have fun with the two million Filipinos that are registered on the platform. He also clarified that the logo won’t be used by the government body.
The contest has only three rules: The logo does not need to follow PAGCOR’s color scheme, the image should be in JPG or PNG format, and should incorporate the three company pillars which are Guidance, Leadership, and Direction.
In less than 24 hours the redesigning contest received around 770 submissions coming from artists from the Philippines, Egypt, Canada, Bangladesh, Morocco, and other countries.
An artist from the Philippines, Richmarc John from Roxas, was supposed to be the one who won the contest but it was discovered that he submitted an AI-generated logo (image above) thus disqualifying him.
So the winning logo comes from @romjanvect1 from Bangladesh seen below.
Aside from getting the cash prize, he will also earn a 5/5 star review that would help him get more freelancing jobs.
Other logos seen above were from artists around the globe. Hopefully, these kinds of contests inspire more artists and freelancers and help them garner the attention they need.
