Good news for Android users, as OpenAI has recently announced that its generative AI app, ChatGPT, is finally headed to Android this week, and it will be available for free.
While the app isn’t available for download just yet, interested users can already pre-register on the Google Play Store.

According to OpenAI, the app will offer mostly the same functions as its web counterpart, though they didn’t specify what version of GPT it will use. For context, the web version uses GPT 3.5 for free users, and the more capable GPT 4.0 for paid users.
This is good news for those who rely on the app and want a more mobile solution.
