MediaTek recently unveiled the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, the latest member of the company’s Dimensity 6000 series. It joins the Dimensity 6020 and Dimensity 6080 chipsets.
The Dimensity 6100+ supports vibrant displays with AI-powered technologies, sub-6 5G connectivity, enhanced image processing, and more for affordable and lower mid-range smartphones.
MediaTek Dimensity 6100+
The Dimensity 6100+ is built on the 4nm process offering improved power efficiency. The chipset is an octa-core CPU with Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.95GHz. The chip also has an Arm Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It also supports up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM.
With this new chipset, smartphones can be equipped with up to 144Hz FHD+ or up to 90Hz QHD+ displays.
The latest member of the Dimensity 6000 series supports up to a single 200MP camera or up to 3 64MP cameras thanks to its 2x 14-bit ISP. The chipset also supports video capture of up to 2K at 30fps. It also has AI-powered camera technologies to enhance the phone’s photography capabilities including advanced features and image enhancements.
Meanwhile, it provides connectivity like 5G Sub-6, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and NFC. The chipset is also equipped with MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0 gaming technology, which offers a smooth gaming experience.
According to MediaTek, the first MediaTek Dimensity 6100+-powered devices will arrive in the third quarter of this year.
