Samsung OLED S95C – why it matters to me!
June and July are usually the best times to buy new games for consoles and even for PCs. This is the time when game publishers release new Triple A titles for both PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.
I have been playing Diablo 4, God of War Ragnarok, and Final Fantasy XVI; and these titles are both available across all platforms. What better way to play these games than to play on a monitor that supports all the new generation gaming technologies like high frame rate, HDR10+, VRR, etc.
A few weeks ago, Samsung Philippines gave us the opportunity to experience the newest addition to their TV line-up, the Samsung OLED. As someone who has been looking for a TV that supports high-frame rate gaming on consoles, I was thrilled to accept the invitation. A few days after I accepted the invitation, Samsung hollered and visited our studio to deliver the 55-inch S95C model and added in the Q600C Soundbar as well.
Surprisingly the installation process was easy. For a TV of this size, make sure to get the help of a friend to setup and make sure to not to press down on the screen to avoid damage during installation. If you want to be extra careful, Samsung offers the option for their service team to install or mount it for your convenience.
Neural Quantum Processor what now?
In the ever-evolving world of television technology, Samsung once again takes the lead with its groundbreaking S95C OLED TV. This packs a host of cutting-edge features: the premium screen combines the brilliance of OLED with the unparalleled processing power of Samsung’s Neural Quantum Processor, delivering an unrivaled viewing and gaming experience.
This particularly helps in producing the best picture quality with deep black and vibrant colors in stunning 4K resolution. If the content on the screen is of a lower resolution, with the help of artificial intelligence, the Samsung OLED upscales content to near 4K.
The result – the quality is absolutely better than other 4K TVs that I have tried in the past. Normally, when 4K is upscaled, it would appear quite obvious on most TVs. On the S95C, you will see upscaled textures, details, and colors, with utmost clarity and impressive quality. For instance, games like God of War Ragnarok show details of Kratos’ or Atreus’ armor with outstanding quality.
This is what gamers really need!
It is also good to note that the Samsung S95C is the first OLED TV to incorporate AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification, guaranteeing seamless synchronization between the TV and compatible gaming hardware for a tear-free and artifact-free gaming experience. This will particularly benefit systems and consoles that feature AMD APUs or GPUs like the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Valve Steam Deck, and the new ROG Ally. Moreover, with NVIDIA GeForce NOW support, gamers can enjoy full 4K game streaming, allowing for uninterrupted gameplay without compromising on visual fidelity.
The S95C also introduces GameBar 3.0, an array of in-game enhancements that tailor the on-screen display to the player’s preferences. With features like Virtual Aim Point, which provides more accurate aiming in FPS games with an on-screen crosshair target, and Minimap Sharing, which allows for at-a-glance map viewing, gamers can optimize their performance while staying immersed in their gaming world. These intuitive additions, combined with the TV’s ability to showcase critical game performance settings, further solidify the Samsung OLED’s status as a gaming powerhouse.
Enjoy Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 at High Frame Rate at 4K on the Samsung OLED
The Samsung OLED’s gaming prowess is further enhanced by its exceptional specifications. It supports 144Hz refresh rate and an astonishingly quick 0.1 millisecond response time, which ensures minimal input lag and unparalleled performance. Whether you’re engaged in high-octane racing or intense first-person shooter battles, the S95C’s 4K display will captivate your senses with its stunning visuals and smooth, lifelike motion.
In my experience, you will not get 144fps all the time especially with games like God of War Ragnarok and Final Fantasy XVI. I was getting about 90 to 105fps on God of War at Performance Mode, while 40-60fps on Final Fantasy XVI at Favor Performance mode. Games that don’t support high frame rate at 4K won’t be able to achieve the same level of performance, but the Samsung OLED gives gamers the flexibility to reach high refresh rates whenever possible.
It completes the visual experience with superb audio features!
The Samsung OLED isn’t just about gaming excellence – it is designed to give you a holistic entertainment experience. With the inclusion of Dolby Atmos and Q-Symphony technology, Samsung has ensured that the audio quality matches the breathtaking visuals. The TV’s speakers seamlessly integrate with the Q-Series and S-Series soundbars to work in harmony to bring gamers an experience like no other.
The Samsung Q600C Soundbar that came with the S95C worked absolutely stunning! The crispness, loudness, and auditory quality give a cinematic and engaging gaming experience, which I absolutely love! In all honesty, this is the experience I always wanted to have; and I am thrilled with the thought of actually getting one for myself. Seriously.
Designed to Impress in your Studio or Living Room
The S95C also showcases Samsung’s commitment to elegant and minimalist design. Featuring the Infinity One Design, this TV is the epitome of sleekness with its modern lines and slender profile. The attachable Slim One Connect solution ingeniously conceals all cords and cables, freeing the viewer from distractions and allowing them to focus solely on the screen’s captivating content.
Samsung’s S95C TV sets a new standard for OLED displays, elevating it to unprecedented heights with the integration of the Neural Quantum Processor and an array of gaming features. Whether you’re a passionate gamer seeking unparalleled performance or an entertainment enthusiast craving immersive visuals and captivating sound, the Samsung OLED will definitely let you experience technological excellence. Samsung continues to redefine the boundaries of what a television can achieve, leaving competitors in awe and consumers hungry for the future of home entertainment.
