Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), Sony’s division in charge of PlayStation, recently announced that it will acquire Audeze, a manufacturer of high-end headphones.

According to a press release, this move will help “strengthen SIE’s efforts to continue innovating when it comes to the audio experience of PlayStation games.”
The company also clarified that Audeze will continue to operate independently and develop multi-platforms. Additionally, it will benefit from being a part of the PlayStation system.
The headphone maker uses unique planar magnetic drivers for an outstanding experience for consumers and professionals.
Sony Interactive Entertainment recently also revealed details on its new wireless headphones and TWS earbuds – the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore, respectively. These were revealed to feature planar magnetic drivers, which could be the first products as part of the acquisition. Moreover, it could hint that this deal has been in the pipeline for a while.
The exact price for the acquisition though wasn’t revealed though ‘due to contractual commitments’.
