Gogolook, the company behind Whoscall, recently appointed Mel Migriño as the Southeast Asia Regional Director for Information Security and the Philippines Country Representative. The new role will see Migriño leading Gogolook’s efforts to build and maintain relationships with important stakeholders in the region, including government agencies, regulators, and industry associations.
Mel Migriño’s Role in Gogolook
Her goal is to strengthen the company’s ability to provide top-notch services and develop and execute Gogolook’s information security and regulatory strategy. As Gogolook’s Country Representative, she will work closely with teams to form partnerships and create strategies for Whoscall’s growth in both private and public sectors, with a focus on making the Scam Free Pilipinas campaign more visible and effective.
Jeff Kuo, CEO of Gogolook, has expressed his excitement about Mel joining the team. With her experience and understanding of the regulatory landscape in Southeast Asia. He believes she will be instrumental in helping the company expand its business in the region and enhance its anti-fraud solutions.
Mel Migriño brings over 20 years of experience into Southeast Asia’s cybersecurity field. She has received multiple international cybersecurity awards, including Top 1 CSO30 ASEAN and Hong Kong, Security Leader of the Year by Women in IT Awards, and a CIO100 Awardee by Foundry (formerly IDG). She is also recognized as a global influencer in cybersecurity by IFSEC Global and as a prominent female figure in network cybersecurity by The Cyber Express.
Mel is an advocate for women’s rights and gender equality in the cybersecurity industry. She serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Women in Security Alliance Philippines (WiSAP) and the Philippines CIO Association and is an Executive Committee member of the ASEAN CIO Association.
Mel Migriño will be based in Manila, strengthening Gogolook’s presence in the Philippines as they introduce caller-ID Whoscall to the country. She expressed her enthusiasm for joining Gogolook during this exciting phase of the company’s growth and emphasized Gogolook’s commitment to creating anti-fraud solutions and its flagship product, Whoscall, which has been downloaded over 100 million times globally and chosen for anti-fraud collaborations with governments in Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan.
In the face of rising fraud in the Philippines, Mel looks forward to Gogolook’s investment and support and invites collaboration from both government and businesses to combat fraud through initiatives like the #ScamFreePilipinas campaign.
