Infinix Zero 30 5G Review

5 minutes from the time I started unboxing the Infinix Zero 30 5G, I tapped the camera button and switched on its front facing camera. I enabled 4K60, hit the record button, and was instantaneously surprised with how good the camera of this device. Without spoiling too much, this is just one of the features that made me like the Infinix Zero 30 5G, making it one of the best midrange smartphones launched this year.

Design and Display

The Infinix Zero 30 5G is a head-turner when it comes to design. It has a sleek and stylish body that is both comfortable to hold and visually appealing. The phone is also very thin and light, making it easy to carry around in your pocket or purse.

The display is another highlight of the Infinix Zero 30 5G. It is a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a fast 144Hz refresh rate and a super-responsive 360Hz touch sampling rate. This makes the display incredibly smooth and responsive, whether you are gaming, scrolling through social media, or simply watching a video. The AMOLED display also produces vibrant and accurate colors, making it ideal for consuming media.

One of the most impressive things about the Infinix Zero 30 5G’s display is that it is protected by Gorilla Glass. Gorilla Glass is a type of tempered glass that is known for its durability and resistance to scratches and cracks. This is a great feature to have on a smartphone, especially if you are prone to dropping your phone.

Performance

Under the hood, the Infinix Zero 30 5G boasts the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chip, offering powerful performance that can easily handle multitasking, gaming, and content creation.

The Dimensity 8020 is a 5nm octa-core processor with two ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It also has a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for graphics processing.

In terms of performance, the Dimensity 8020 is comparable to flagship processors like Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. It can easily handle demanding tasks like gaming, video editing, and multi-tasking. We expected it to perform better than the Dimensity 7050, and it performed rightly so based on our benchmark.

The Infinix Zero 30 5G also comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage space. This is more than enough for most users, and it ensures that the phone can handle even the most demanding tasks with ease.

Given its core hardware specs, you should expect the Infinix Zero 30 5G to be able to do the following:

  • It can run the latest mobile games at high settings with smooth frame rates.
  • It can edit 4K videos without any lag or stuttering.
  • It can run multiple apps simultaneously without slowing down.
  • It can quickly load and render web pages and complex documents.
  • It can multitask between different tasks seamlessly.

I subjected the Infinix Zero 30 5G to a series of synthetic tests that you can try and replicate. Below are the list of synthetic benchmarks we have used. We also compared its performance versus the Snapdragon 778G on the vivo V29 5G, MediaTek Dimensity 7050 on realme 11 Pro+ 5G, and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 on Honor 90 for extra reference.

Camera Performance

The Infinix Zero 30 5G is a great smartphone for photography enthusiasts, especially those who are aspiring Filipino creators. It has a versatile camera system with a 108MP main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP auxiliary sensor, and a 50MP front-facing camera.

The 108MP main sensor is the most impressive camera on the Infinix Zero 30 5G. It can capture sharp and detailed photos in most lighting conditions, even in low light. The Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) helps to reduce camera shake and blur, ensuring clear and steady shots. In my experience, it is VERY hard to find a smartphone at the same price point that houses the same main sensor and OIS combo.

The 13MP ultrawide sensor is great for capturing landscapes and group photos. It has a 120-degree field of view, which allows you to capture more of the scene in a single shot. The 2MP auxiliary sensor is used for depth sensing, which allows you to create bokeh effects in your photos. This is a great way to make your subjects stand out from the background.

The 50MP front-facing camera is perfect for taking selfies and vlogging. It can also record 4K video at 60 fps, which is great for creating high-quality vlogs. This is what really got me surprised because the quality of the front 4K video at 60fps is equally as stunning as the one I took in front. Again, this feature is a big win for Infinix, and I commend them for being able to pull off something like this!

Battery and Charging

Battery life and charging speed are two of the most important factors to consider when choosing a smartphone for content creation. Content creators are often on the go and need a phone that can keep up with their busy schedules. The Infinix Zero 30 5G addresses this need with a large 5,000mAh battery and support for 68W Super Charging.

A 5,000mAh battery is more than enough for most users, even those who are heavy users. It can easily last a full day on a single charge, even with heavy use. And if you do need to top up your battery, 68W Super Charging will get you from 1% to 80% in just 30 minutes. This means you can spend less time charging your phone and more time creating content.

In my experience its 5,000mAh battery lasted for 18 hours and 21minutes – another big win for this device, thanks to its good software and chipset optimization.
