Ahead of the Snapdragon Summit which will be held in Hawaii, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 listing was spotted on Geekbench 5 with its believed to be the Redmi K70. What’s more surprising though is its scores in single-core and multi-core which are surprisingly low.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – Geekbench
The Geekbench listing is for the device under the model number Xiaomi 23117RK66C which is believed to be the unreleased Redmi K70. It scored 1100 and 5150 in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively on the Geekbench 5 benchmark. This is drastically lower than the previously spotted scores on Geekbench 6.1.0.
The single-core test, specifically ranks lower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which has a score of 1479 and even lower than the average Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 single-core score of 1179.
The multi-core score, on the other hand, while higher than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the highest and average Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 scores, just has an increase of a little under 350. This makes it feel like a Plus upgrade rather than a next-generation flagship chipset.
These results could be pretty inaccurate though especially since it was done in the outdated Geekbench 5, version 5.5.1, benchmark.
Additionally, it appears to have a different core setup from the previous Geekbench listing. The Redmi listing has a 1+5+2 core setup running at a higher clock speed for the latter two cores, while the Samsung device is listed to have a 1+4+3 core setup with a higher clock speed for the prime core.
Could this be one of the two variants of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 which was recently reported or is the result due to it being an engineering sample? We’ll have to wait and see.

That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
