X (formerly Twitter) CEO Elon Musk proposed charging all its users during a talk with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This is the latest controversial event since his takeover of Twitter, but experts warn he may have a hard time convincing users.
For a quick refresher, Elon Musk’s purchase of X for USD 44 billion has led to a decline in the platform’s value, with half of its advertising revenue lost in July, despite claims of a return of advertisers.
X/Twitter Monthly Fee
Musk said that the monthly fee that he plans to implement will help curb the number of bots that plague the X system. This may also help sustain the platform even though Musk said that 90 percent of its advertisers are back.
However, users have been protesting against this strategy. Stating that this would further alienate future advertisers and may lead to finally ruining the platform.
As of writing this article, we still have to wait and see if Twitter’s owner will proceed with this plan and what the results will be after the implementation.
