Apple has recently announced the newest Apple Pencil with a USB-C port. This new Apple Pencil supports iPad Pro 11 2018 and older.
Apple Pencil with USB-C
The new Apple Pencil has a USB-C port for charging but it doesn’t support wireless charging or pairing. Despite this, it supports the hover feature of the iPad Pro models powered by the M2 chip and magnetically attaches to it. The USB-C version also carries over low latency for responsiveness.
The new Pencil also doesn’t have pressure sensitivity which its predecessors, the first and second generation Pencils have. The USB-C Pencil also doesn’t feature the Double-tap feature that the second-generation Pencil offers.
Pricing and Availability
Locally, the Pencil with USB-C is priced at PHP 4,990, making it the most affordable of the three offerings while adapting some of the technologies introduced in the second-generation Pencil.
The exact availability though of the USB-C pencil has yet to be announced as of writing this.
