Ahead of tonight’s big launch from Google, PBKreviews on YouTube uploaded unboxing videos of the much-awaited Google Pixel 8 series comprised of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
Google Pixel 8 Series
Unboxed
The unboxing videos though don’t reveal anything too surprising aside from the aesthetics of both devices. While they do have the iconic Pixel design around the back, complete with the protruding camera module, the Pixel 8 has a glossy finish in the back panel, while the 8 Pro has a matte finish.
Unsurprisingly, we also see the dual rear camera setup of the vanilla Pixel 8 and a triple rear setup of its Pro sibling, including what appears to be a periscope telephoto lens as the right-most lens.
In addition to the actual device, both Pixel phones will arrive with a USB-C cable, a USB-A to C adapter, and documentation.
Pixel 8 Pro Geekbench Scores
The Pixel 8 Pro was also spotted on Geekbench revealing its scores. The device scored 1760 and 4442 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. These are pretty impressive for a Pixel phone with the Pixel 7 Pro scoring 1444 and 3793 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
The Geekbench listing of the Pixel 8 Pro also reveals that it will run on Android 14.
The duo are expected to run on the Tensor G3 chipset and this is said to feature newer cores and have a 1+4+4 core layout.
The Google Pixel 8 series will be unveiled at a launch event that will be livestreamed later at 10 PM, Philippine Time.
